The IP address is the four byte number. It used to represent a unique communicating connected device in the network. The communicating device may be a personal computer , a printer , a modem or a mobile phone.
There is two part of the IP address one is netid and the another one is the host id. Net id may be first two bytes in the IP address (class B Type) , and another two bytes are the host id. Both combinely spacifies the same device in the network. Using this IP address you can send a perticular message to a one unique device among the millons of devices in the same network.
There is five types of IP address are class A, class B, class C, class D, class E. Here the class E type is not used in date.It is reserved for the future perpose.
